Process Verification Test for Autoclaved Lightweight Aerated Concrete Partition Walls with Recycled Glass

Absrtact
Because of its durability and low air permeability, glass containers can effectively preserve the quality of the fillings in the bottles. Therefore, in view of these favorable material properties, glass became widely used by manufacturers. According to the statistics of the recycling deparments of the EPA, the recycling of glass products has increased significantly in the past decade. From about 150,000 tons in 2006 to about 390,000 tons in 2018, the amount of recycling has multiplied by 2.56 times, causing huge pressure on the recycling system. On the hand, since the glass composition is simple and almost 100% reusable, it has been worldly recognized as an extremely potential material when in consider to sustainability. Therefore, the methodology of how to effectively reuse the massive amount of glass waste becomes one of the most interesting issues that we could collaboratively invest in. Autoclaved Lightweight Aerated Concrete (ALC) partition walls, might have been considered as one of the best choices when picking the products for compartment partition walls due to their lightweight, the excellent ability of thermal and acoustic insulation, and easy for construction works. The main ingredient for manufacturing the ALC is Silicon dioxide. As the matter of the fact that the acquisition was mainly dependent on import, and countries which have this natural resource has been taking control of its exploitations, the price of Silicon dioxide has continued to show an upward tendency. Therefore, in order to lessen the dependency on import procurement, improve technological capabilities of domestic manufacturer, levitate the additional value on recycled-glass and broaden its application, moreover, to integrate the trend of the industrial ideology of sustainable economy: it is proposed to launch the research for developing the technique of manufacturing ALC partition walls with domestic recycled glass.
